Child safety standards

Gimik has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, and any sexualisation of minors. This page sets out the standards every account and every piece of content on Gimik is held to.

Gimik is for adults

• Gimik is for people aged 18 and over.
• Every sign-up asks for a birthday, and anyone under 18 is refused.
• If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete its data.

What is not allowed

• Sharing, requesting or linking to sexual content involving anyone under 18.
• Contacting, grooming or soliciting a minor, on Gimik or through it.
• Content that sexualises minors, including drawings, text and AI-generated images.
• Using plans, groups or messages to arrange to meet a minor.

How we prevent it

• Text in profiles, somedays, plans and messages is checked against a filter, and abusive terms are refused before they are saved.
• Every report is reviewed by our team.
• Blocking someone hides you from each other immediately.

How to report a concern

• In the app: open the person, someday or message, tap Report, and describe what you saw. The person you report is never told who reported them.
• By email: write to support@gimik.app with the subject “Child safety”. You do not need a Gimik account to report.
• If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police first.

What we do with a report

• We remove the content and close the account involved.
• We keep the evidence securely, so it can be given to the authorities.
• We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant national authorities, including in the Philippines.
• We cooperate with law enforcement requests made through proper legal process.
